Pavlodar is a diversified industrial complex

Pavlodar region is one of the main industrial regions of Kazakhstan. Historically, one of the largest in the economic space of the CIS territorial production complex with the optimal combination of traditionally complex industries and enterprises engaged in the development of mineral raw materials and crude hydrocarbons was formed here. Asia and Siberia attract the close attention of industrialists and entrepreneurs of different countries and continents. In addition, other attractive features of the region may be added to these economic indicators: the developed banking sector, the dynamic development of small and medium-sized businesses, the availability of high-class specialists, modern transport and communication infrastructure, the presence of foreign investors, and the availability of government development programs.

Diversified industrial complex emerged in the territory of Pavlodar region. Industrial potential of the region is determined by the largest export-oriented industrial companies. They produce coal, electric and thermal power, ferrous alloys. 7% of the industrial production of the Republic of Kazakhstan, about 70% of the Republican coal production, ¾ of the Republican ferrous alloy production, about 40% of the Republican production of the electric power and oil products. The region has a sufficient potential to develop the enterprises of chemical, machine building, and metal processing industries.

About 5 thousand enterprises of various forms of ownership are actively operating in the region. Also, the region has a raw materials base and production capacities to process the agricultural products. Energy heart of Kazakhstan is the largest power generating station in Ekibastuz, Aksu state district power plant as well as a number of the thermal power station servicing the energy- intensive enterprises of the Pavlodar industrial complex. An indisputable advantage of these power plants is the proximity to coal sources and consumers of electricity and heat. The considerable role is devoted to the regional agriculture. The area of the regional agricultural land makes 11.2 million hectares. The basis crops cultivated in the region is wheat – about half of the crop acres. About 15-17% falls on the other white straw crops. Also, the potato, vegetable and cucurbits crops are cultivated in the region. The industrial potential created in the region made it necessary to expand transportation services and transport and economic ties. The region is a complex transport and communication hub: the largest inland oil pipeline to the south of the country (to Shymkent), the long-distance power transmission lines to various regions of Kazakhstan and Russia, the Irtysh-Karaganda- Zhezkazgan canal, the railroads to Russia, center, and south of the country originate from here.
